1/4" Stainless Steel Shelf Pin Sleeves

Worked like a charm in existing hole for 1/4" shelf pins

I have made several purchases in the past, and I have always been pleased with the results. Parts are packaged in medium weight heat sealed bags, with large identification labels. The orders are shipped very quickly, and the metal is good quality. I fix up Heywood Wakefield furniture from the 1940’s and 1950’s. Widgets is where I buy my Shelf Pins because they look like the originals for that furniture. I also upgrade vintage display cabinets by adding lighting and glass shelves. This usually means adding more shelf pin holes to provide more shelf adjustments. Personally, I feel that filling the empty holes in display cabinets with Grommets adds a finished look and makes the furniture look more expensive. In this particular order I purchased each ‘color’ of Shelf Pin & it's matching Grommet so I could have samples at home to see which would work best with my project. In each pair, the pin and grommet colors matched each other perfectly. I highly recommend Widgets for small orders, since that is all I have placed.

I'm building a closet and I really want a clean finished look. I checked out a few other shelf pin sleeves but they all seemed to be made out of very thin material and looked like they would have to protrude from the work piece a little bit. Personally I don't want that look. Additionally, the type of metal on some that I looked at was questionable. The last thing I want is to have them rust over time. This item is nice and thick and sits flush (assuming you're using a drill press to consistently drill the same depth holes). It's 100% stainless so it with never rust. The product description says the outside diameter is 8mm. However, with a 8mm hole the sleeves drop right into the hole, instead of being pressed in. Not a big deal as I just installed them with a drop of glue. If you really want a nice press fit, I'd recommend trying different size bits (maybe 5/16 instead). I know these are expensive, but you absolutely get what you pay for!

Got what I bought. Simple product. Needed a shim around a drill bit to center drill a dog point set screw hole. Good shipping. Good experience

We use these for glass shelves in showers. I don't know how good their 304 is but thus far it had stood up rather well without any staining. They do not hold with a magnet whatsoever, so I can only assume the alloy is good for our application. These make the holes look clean and precise, especially if the bit chips a small piece of the stone when cutting. Also see the stainless steel shelf pins
