Wood buttons perfect. Needed to replace missing on stairway. Good price, quick shipping. Best part: Widget tells you which part of the button is 1/2": it's the base not the top. The General buttons from Home Depot don't specify: turns out, it's the top, so they don't fit well in a 1/2" hole.

We just re-covered our 10 dining room chairs for the second time in many years. There were about 25 of those little screw cover plugs that have disappeared over the years. Went on line and found them, they actually look better than the originals. Got the 1/2" oak plugs, stained them with golden oak stain and 3 coats of clear deft. I actually sprayed them on the back of a magazine. The great thing was that when I peeled them off it left a little buildup around the bottom of them and when installed it gave them the perfect amount of friction to hold them in place without having to use any glue.They are a perfect match, we couldn't be happier.

Love your store! I needed these to replace plugs in my wood bar stools that have been "lost" over the years. These fit perfectly into the holes, even though they do have a larger mushroom cap. Had a hard time finding a size for my project until I saw this site. The odd thing was the 5/8" were too big. I could not even tap them in with a hammer. The 1/2" fit but were loose. I had to glue them in.
