Suggested for wines: up to 4 years old Material: High Grade 1+1 Cork (Agglomerated + Natural Slices) Diameter: #9 (23.5mm) Length: 1-3/4" (45mm) Fits: Standard Wine Bottles (750ml)
1+1 "A" Wine Corks are intended for wine storage of up to 4 years. The wine corks are our best selling wine corks in the USA. 1+1 Wine Corks are a combination of an agglomerated cork base with whole cork ends. Made from natural cork harvested in Portugal. Large orders are packaged in S02 packaging. This wine cork will compress to fit standard wine bottles - corker is required. We recommend a floor corker or better.

I have used the 1+1 wine corks (both A & B) for several years now. I started using these after losing several kits of wine due to cheap corks available at my local wine kit dealer. These work great and the shipping is always very prompt.

Risky in my case?
I have ordered 2'000 of these corks. When I showed them to the winemaker he already told me "they look risky", so I went to show them to a specialist and he again said "risky". Being extra careful I ordered now new ones from the specialist but I still wonder if these ones are safe to use for a later batch. What makes my case special is, that the bottleneck is not completely round inside, so when you put the cork in it, a tiny bit of wine can get up to 15mm up and around the cork. What do you guys think?

Not too good this time
I've used these corks for several years and have always been very satisfied. The last batch I received, however, has a lot of corks where the disc on the end has a notch or groove or chip on the edge which defeats the purpose of the slice being there. If the end disc doesn't seal all the way around, then the wine is exposed to the material above it.
[Reply from WIDGETCO: Thank you for the information, we will conduct a quality check on this.]

Top Notch Corks
I have used these corks for 6 years now for wine aged from 1 to 5 years and have not had one bad bottle. They go in with a two lever hand corker, but a lot easier and better with a floor corker. I usually toss out only 2 or 3 from every 100.

I needed corks to fit standard bottles. These are too big and I have almost 100 of the same size already. I needed smaller ones for a regular size bottle. I tried to return them but shipping is going to cost $7.20 to return. What number do I need for a standard wine bottle? I can't put $40 out to continue getting the wrong size cork.
[Reply from WIDGETCO: Sorry to hear the fit was not as expected. A standard wine bottle should be 750ml with a 3/4" (19mm diameter opening). These corks are designed for the bottles. If fit is not ideal, it is often the corker or the technique (corking needs to be a single quick motion). If there is still a problem, then we recommend a natural cork can compress slightly better. There also exist narrower corks which we do not offer but you may try searching #8 wine corks as they might be better suited for your particular bottle. In our experience, we find they don't seal as well. We are happy to provide a refund upon return.]

Great product and quick response
We used 150 to start a cork board and we will be ordering another 150 to finish! We love the look and the corks perfect for our DIY project.

Nice but delicate
If slightly out of adjustment they will tear going into bottle. Not as forgiving as the cheaper corks. But a good value for a 4 year cork.

The corks were expect to arrive in 2-3 days by FedEx. Unfortunate the delivery was set for residential home delivery requiring a signature. I work all day and could not get home in time to sign. I had to pick the corks up at a FEDEX store. Very inconvenient for me. Wish you stated the delivery options much clearly. Other than FedEx rules hope the corks are worth the wait.
[From WIDGETCO: Thank you for the feedback. Normally, for FEDEX we do not require a signature, so we will look into why this occurred.]

Just got my latest shipment of these. Lookin' good as they always do. I've had absolutely no problem with these. Post Office was slow to deliver - 9 days. Must have come by lame mule.

1+1 wine corks
Arrived in a timely fashion, won't be used for a few weeks so I can't say whether there are any defects.
