I have purchased this product several times over a period of years from WidgetCo. The product is always excellent and arrives promptly, as promised. The qualities of cork, in my opinion, are far superior to all the artificial substitutes now available. Often I see flooring with built in cork backing being featured. The price gets inflated while the actual quantity of cork is minimal. Be sure you get the quarter inch, it is worth every penny!

I have purchased from Widget Co. in the past over several years. Shipment is prompt and sometimes the shipping boxes are somewhat beat up, but the product has always been in excellent condition and is as advertised. I use the cork for building foundations and track roadbed for HO model trains. It can also be used for lining tool drawers. It works very well, easy to cut to size and shape. Better then specific road bed cork that is sold for this use as you can cut to fit and eliminates many little pieces and less expensive.

I am installing vinyl flooring on top of an old tile floor, needed this to raise up exactly 1/4” to meet an existing floor in another room, this is really a 1/4” not like the roll material advertised as 1/4” but is actually less, this is also easy to work with and stays flat, would purchase again.

The first time I used this product (2 yrs ago) I use the 1/8" (3mm) and was very happy with the way it pieced together on the floor. I don't remember if the instructions state to tape the seams together but I did with masking tape (it stopped the cork from shifting while putting the floor down). The floor I'm doing now, I'm using the 1/4". It helps keep cold out from under side of the house, and is an excellent cushion for the flooring. Cork by its nature, tends to crumble at corners, etc., I find the 1/4" holds up a lot better and is still easy to cut to shape with a box cutter. Another up side to the cork underlayment, if you have any left over when your project is done you can put it on the wall for a bulletin board. I highly recommend this product.

I used the 6mm on top of my 3/4” plywood sub flooring for an upstairs Addison. The 2 x 3 sheets were very easy to use and makes a noticeable difference, making the floor quiet, and subtly softer. This is the second time to use this product for this purpose and I’ll use it again.

I needed to replace old carpet (covering plywood flooring in a 35 year old house) with an engineered hardwood floating plank floor. I used quarter inch (rather than the usual eighth inch) cork sheets as my underlayment. It was easy to work with and provided a wonderful smooth surface that covered minor surface irregularities and poor plywood seams. It also provided excellent sound and temperature insulation. I especially loved that it was mold resistant and free of unhealthy chemicals. The floors are quiet and comfortable to walk on even on the second floor. It exceeded all my expectations! Installation only required a sharp blade for fitting and duct tape over the cork seams. The cork was a pleasure to work with !

Received the order Saturday evening. Let me give you some feedback on the condition of the carton. The tape on both ends were split open which let the box flex in the middle causing the cork to stay in a bent mode for some period of time. I laid a few sheets out on a flat surface opposite the curl and believe they will flatten out over time. This is probably not important to flooring jobbers but for what I will use them for it is. Thanks for a good product and quick service.

We used this on a concrete floor as a backer for vinyl plank flooring. We went over existing ceramic tile and needed to make up a difference of a 1/4" where it transitioned back to concrete. It went down easy and the new laminate floor matched the height the of ceramic tile. We needed to meet a sound rating requirement for tenants below and this product met the requirements.

I was looking for cork for HO model railroad roadbed. Used roll in the past the the end curls and causes some issues. These sheets are perfect, no curl and quality is just right. Also the price was better than rolls. Shipping was fast. I am am happy.

This is an excellent underlayment product. It was easy to work with during installation. There is no odor to it, it cuts easily and is light weight. The cork is performing great and provides a cushioned feel as we walk on our new Cali Bamboo Vinyl Pro floor. It was shipped very quickly and arrived in just a few days. I would highly recommend this product and this company. I will be using this product again the next time I need underlayment for a new floor.

I place the order and received in 3 days. Very prompt service. This product is made in Portugal and it is very good high quality materials compared to the chinese made which I purchased locally in my town. After I install entire room then I will will know the difference between two room for noise reduction.

The installer had not used this product before. Since it was essentially like installing two floors he had hoped I would not go with it. But on a cement slab floor I really wanted the cushion, insulation and sound proofing. This seems like it has been well worth going the extra mile. Also glad we installed the cork in sheets vs. A rolled material.

We purchased this 6mm Cork Underlayment to prep our old wood floors for new laminate. I cannot stress enough how simple this product is to fit and laydown. We had some unevenness and small gaps between our old flooring boards but this cork took all the variation and creaks away and created a very nice surface for our new laminate. When the job was completed walking on the new flooring was quiet and very comfortable. We highly recommend this product as an underlayment for laminate flooring!

I ordered one box and I must say, I'm relieved it didn't fall apart upon taking it out of the package. It's sturdy yet light and flexible. I was prepared for the worst but I'm so happy spending that money now!

We had previously used the roll of cork before finding this website; rolls are harder to work with as it does not easily lay flat. So to finish up the project I decided to go with WIDGETCO sheets, best price with shipping I could find. So much faster and easier to use sheets, will definitely use them again when I finished up the master.

After a lot of research I used these 1/4" cork sheets under Armstrong LVT vinyl planks (floating). The vinyl planks did not really need an underlayment but I hoped the cork would keep the floor a bit warmer since this house has an unheated crawl space. And it did just that. In addition, the subfloor had a lot of imperfections and little gouges from digging out a zillion old staples after removing the old carpet. The cork just magically created a smooth and level surface for the new flooring. Very easy to use and super environmentally friendly. I highly recommend this product. It doesn't give off noxious fumes that linger forever either. Delivery was very prompt and cartons arrived undamaged.

I purchased this underlayment to line some drawers. I also am getting hardwood floors so I plan to use some under furniture to prevent scratching and denting. The cork is sturdy yet cuts very easily. I am not particularly handy but i am having no trouble using this. I plan to buy a much larger quantity to actually use as underlayment under my new flooring. I spent quite a bit of time looking for a great price for cork. WIDGETCO seems unbeatable. Also, a lot of people talk about a weird and strong smell with some cork. There is a faint smell to this cork but it is not unpleasant at all.

I never used cork underlayment before, and had a very pleasant experience, both with the 1/4" cork and WIDGETCO. This product was everything I had hoped, and our floors (floating engineered wood on above grade slab) are now warm and quiet. There was a very slight smell that I think is natural for the bark and why it is root and insect resistant. Installation was very easy (I even did some cuts with a pair of scissors). Shipping was fast and you can't beat the value. P.S. I wish I could give WIDGETCO six stars, one extra to make up for the silly one-star rating below.

Totally happy with the cork I ordered from WIDGETCO. Came a day earlier that expected. Very prompt service. My mom is planning on ordering when she gets ready to do her laminate floors. Very nice product to work with!!! I had never layed laminate before but was SOOO easy with the cork sheets. Very happy and pleased with the finished product and look forward to the next flooring project. My flooring was done upstairs over wood subfloor. Sounds very solid and quiet.

I purchased 7 cases of the 1/4 inch underlayment with free shipping. No where on the initial sales page or the checkout page did Widgetco inform me of the return refund policy. I was expected to return 7 huge cases of underlayment on my own. I was told to shop around for the most cost effective shipping company or use my own shipping account (which i do not have as a regular retail customer). After extensive email correspondence with the Widgetco rep I was told they will provide the FedEx shipping label and pickup for $190. I spent $455 on 7 cases so that means the return shipping cost is 42% of the total cost of merchandise. I initiated a chargeback with my credit card company for the amount of the return shipping. Widgetco defended themselves by saying they never received the merchandise. Thankfully, FedEx has tracking numbers on the 7 cases. Clearly, widgetco is enthusiastic to make a big sale but not so quick to take back their product when you don't want it.

Unfortunately I had to return my order of cork panels because we decided on a different process. I received a refund immediately after they received my return shipment. I would buy from them again and would recommend them.

We used this product as underlayment for an upstairs nail-down hardwood project. It is a quality 1/4" cork and is ideal for soundproofing. My installers found it very easy to work with. Cuts easily and lays down nicely. 15 boxes of cork were delivered quickly and arrived undamaged. We highly recommend the product.

My husband found this option and lined 28 Feet of kitchen cabinets and drawers in this cork last September. It is so outstanding he is now starting to line the new storage units in the garage. It protects the drawers and shelves and is easy to keep clean. I never imagined I would like it so much. We had a new appraisal on our home and the appraiser open the drawers and was very impressed.....he told me it was over the top.

Product is becoming more difficult to find. Company shipped out very quickly very good quality, shipping damaged some of the peices but WIDGETCO took care of problem within hours of when I received product. Installed as glue down floor looks great, feels good when walked on and eliminated all the noise issues.

The product was shipped to the wrong address. I had to called fedex multiple times to received 7 out of the 9 boxes that I ordered. Called customer service to get fedex to deliver the last 2 boxes. Another week gone by without receiving them. WIDGETCO offered to ship 2 new boxes and they arrived in time. First order from WIDGETCO resulted in bad experience, customer service was good in sending the replacement.

I ordered the 6mm Cork Underlayment to go under my new oak floor. The order arrived super fast and the install was so easy. The cork deadens the sound and the floor does not sound hollow when we walk on it. Corner of box was ripped and the corner of the sheets was broken(only 3 sheets were o.k.). We supposed to receive the item on Nov. 19th but during the delivery the item was broken so they had to ship again and we received our item on 23rd. This time is 1 star but last time was 5 stars.

The website gave me all the information in one place with no hassle. The person taking the order could actually speak English, and the process was quick, simple and no problems or long wait. Free shipping saved me about $40 compared to another vender that had cheaper price but added $130 shipping. Ordered Saturday and arrived in 3 business days and that was shipping from Texas to northern Michigan. Product handles and looks great, but I am still in the process of installing the flooring. So far I have not found any breakage but about 1/3 of the boxes were a little crushed on the corners. Maybe the packages should be labeled "Please throw underhand!" Fed Ex seems to handle packages rougher than other carriers. Completely satisfied so far. Would order again. Just wish I had found this product sooner and installed in another part of my house. I actually used it to cover my countertops in my garage. I had used thinner roiled cork previously but this thickness is much better for me. I have plenty to spare for replacement in the future. Good value and quality for my project.

We're using Cork Underlayment as part of our overall noise reduction strategy for a 2nd floor room in a log house. We have a T&G subfloor that serves as the ceiling for the rooms below. We applied acoustic caulk along the edges and in between the grooves, then put down the cork. Even with just that, we could tell a huge difference. We're putting on 2 layers of OCB board with more acoustic caulk between them, then MLV and then hardwood. I think this is going to work out great.

Sound properties are great. The 3x2 sheets are perfect. They are easy to manage and stay perfectly flat vs using rolled material. If you need to make a cut, simply scribe with a utility knife and break the edge by pushing away from the score. I used this under a floating floor so glueing or stapeling the cork to the floor was not required. EASY and a great product choice for my job.

After ordering the same style cork from the big online retailer and it being delivered completely demolished, I decided to look for a more local company. After some searching I found WIDGETCO which is a local company for me. I placed an order for the 1/4 cork underlayment, however due to the time I placed the order it took 2 days for delivery. Shipment arrives boxed (not just shrink wrapped like other places) which protects it from shipment damage. Quality of product is very good, very sturdy and takes ample pressure to cut it with a knife, so it is not a type of product which falls apart. Also product is from Portugal and not China. I unfortunately ran short on my project and had to order an additional box, which will be delivered the next day, since I placed the order at an earlier time of the day. Also very good customer service from the personnel I spoke with. Will definitely order more cork products from them

Shipment arrived quickly via Fedex and was in good condition. I have not yet installed the product, but it should do well. I am giving it a 5 rating, but I was a bit disappointed that the company did not provide a recommendation on the preferred tape to use when joining the sheets, instead suggesting I speak with an installer - sounds like something their lawyers told them to say.

Package got damaged on its way here when it was very close to the state I live in, which I found this out by looking at the tracking. It said it was being sent back to the seller WIDGETCO, so I called them about it and they sent a replacement the same day I called which was a few days before the damaged package of cork arrived at WIDGETCO. I am so glad I decided to use the ¼" WIDGETCO cork underlayment on my 2nd story of my home. I used it in the master, all the bedrooms, and the closets. With this, I did not require a plastic vapor barrier - only the cork. You can jump up and down and barely hear any noise. This is a great, sustainable resource. Love the cork and love WIDGETCO. Will be ordering from again in the near future!

We are SO glad we found this product to put under the floating "SmartCore" vinyl floor we are installing on cement. Although, this floor doesn't require an underlayment, the room is a cold room in the winter with a hard cement floor and we wanted the extra insulation and softness. Your cork underlayment is PERFECT, and SO easy to use. It came beautifully packaged, is clean (no dust) and is very easy to use. I am using the underlayment to raise up the subfloor in guest bedroom (after removing carpet) to match surrounding hallway floor. I am using Thermosoft Radiant Heat mats and Bamboo floating floor. This product is dense and hard enough to act like luan under the floor while also flexible enough to accommodate some unevenness in the subfloor. Way better thermal insulator than luan too. On-time shipment and boxes arrived in good condition.

I purchased this underlayment for a dance/workout room, with laminate plank flooring over it. I am very pleased with the feel of the cork underneath the laminate; it adds just a little bit of spring underfoot and should help muffle sound. This was my very first flooring project, and I couldn't have asked for an easier installation process. The sheets lie perfectly flat, and are easy to cut with a utility knife. I will absolutely use this underlayment for future projects! Shipping was very prompt and the quality is excellent, no crumbling or damaged sheets in either of my two boxes.

This was purchased for an attic conversion now done. The price was great, delivery was extremely timely, and the contractor found it easy to use between the sub-floor and the hardwood flooring. It helps cushion the fit and eliminates the perceived footfall heard on the first floor (the presence of teenagers is another matter -- but that's muffled.). We used this as underlayment for a 3/8" thick floating bamboo floor being laid on a concrete slab. It is wonderful. It lays completely flat, we taped the edges together with ordinary package tape. After the floor was installed we were additionally impressed because the cork served as a great sound muffler as well as an insulator.

Very impressed with reduced sound transfer to lower rooms and that almost all of the annoying floor squeaks have been abated. When compared with Lowes, these 1/4" underlayment sheets were cheaper and were delivered faster than what is available at Lowes. Sheets are easier to install than rolled corked. Great for sound insulation for my condo as I have decided to replaced my old vinyl flooring with porcelain tiles.

From ease of ordering to quality of product everything was fantastic. The product was far superior to anything I could find at the big box home improvement stores and a third the price of all other similar products I could find, locally or online.

We received pur order of 10 boxes very quickly. They even delivered on Saturday. Every box was in good shape. Already started installing the cork underlayment under a hardwood floor in a bedroom. The rectangular sheets lie flat and cut easily. There was no curling or splits at the edges, unlike rolled cork, which we used prior to finding WidgetCo. It will definitely speed up our project.
